Rentakeeper offers control of pests and vermin, either on an ad-hoc or annual contract basis. Examples of some of the most common pests are:

Rats:
Disease-carrying rodents of sewers, rubbish dumps, untidy areas and hedgerows. Contolled by anti-coagulant poison baiting in species specific containers.

Mice:
This household pest is becoming more prevalent in domestic situations and in factories and offices, where they can live happily in suspended ceilings. Apart from the hygiene concerns, mice cost UK companies tens of thousands of pounds each year by, for example, chewing through computer network cables and electrical wiring. A female mouse can produce eight to ten young every 15 days, so they are a problem which needs to be tackled as soon as they are discovered.

Foxes:
This persistant killer has become adapted to urban life, enjoying feasts from dustbins and garden pets. Controlled by live catching cage traps and shooting at night.

Magpies:
The ultimate egg stealer, sharp-eyed and an inveterate thief and taker of young birds and animals. Controlled by live catching cages.

Carrion Crows:
These “dead meat” eaters are great egg stealers and takers of young birds, rabbits, leverets and deer fawns. Controlled by live catching cage traps.

Mink:
The most recent addition to our wildlife, a wanton killer of any species it can get it’s teeth into. Controlled by live catching cage traps.

Insects:
We are bee-keepers ourselves, so we will catch swarms and transfer them to our own hives. We deal with wasp problems during July and August and flies coming in to roofspaces of buildings for the winter. Fleas are a year-round problem in offices and homes and are easily spread by humans – not just pets and other animals! We also offer an identification service whnever unusual insects are discovered and we have the technical expertise to carry out the appropriate control.

Grey Squirrels:
The “tree rat” is a rodent with the capability to kill trees by bark stripping, a keen birds’ nest robber and killer of fledglings. Controlled by ant-coagulant poison baiting in species specific containers.

Rabbits:
Crop grazers and damagers of regenerated trees. Controlled by shooting, ferreting and live cage trapping.

Deer:
Destroyers of young trees and frayers of saplings, each species requiring a population survey prior to specialised selective control methods.
